The Translation Commons Localization Group is seeking volunteer Localization Project Managers (LPMs) and Project Coordinators (LPCs) to support multilingual projects. These roles are fully remote, volunteer-based, and provide practical experience in international localization workflows.
Key Responsibilities(LPM)
- Define project scope, type, and schedule.
- Assign translators and reviewers with input from language leads.
- Coordinate and host project kickoff meetings.
- Document project details in TMS/trackers.
- Monitor progress and troubleshoot issues.
- Ensure translators and reviewers have necessary resources and permissions.
- Act as liaison across teams and encourage collaboration.
Key Responsibilities(LPC)
- Prepare and format project files.
- Support communication between linguists and project managers.
- Record issues and assist with troubleshooting.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Proactive, problem-solving attitude.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to manage distributed teams.
- Experience with TMS or project management tools preferred.
- Weekly commitment of ~5 hours.
